Critical reading Week 6


Today I learned about The Age of Immigration. This 

story about European immigration to the United 

States by using technic reading from suggest in 

handbook such as scan forward through the

paragraph and number the factors. Then come back 

And continue reading for the main idea, scan the 

paragraph and highlight words or short phrases that 

suggest economic hardship. Then come back and 

continue reading, what does However suggest about 

the main idea of the paragraph? Should you keep

your first hypothesis or change it?, as you continue 

reading, answer this question: “Does the paragraph 

describe positive or negative aspects of  immigrants’

 lives?”, read the first sentence of paragraph 7 and

 highlight the continuing idea in it. Use this idea to

 help you indentify the main idea of paragraph 6, and

 highlight the sentence in the paragraph that this 

story illustrates. Then I had practice main idea 

check, vocabulary study: synonym and words in 

context.Finally teacher asked to our that to search a

story about immigration in other countries to 

another country.

            In this lesson, it quite easy but difficult too. 

I understand this lesson but confuse a little, I must 

read carefully and many time, however I enjoyed in 

this class.
